CASE FILE V  ยท  DEEPFAKE REMOVAL

A deepfake of me is being shared.

A convincing fake of something you never did is deeply violating. It is also removable - and the faster you move, the less it spreads.

1

Preserve evidence, don't share it further

Screenshot where it appears, the URLs, accounts and timestamps. Do not forward it, even to warn people - each share widens its reach.

2

Report it under the right category

Most platforms have specific reporting for synthetic or manipulated media and for non-consensual intimate imagery, which is treated with urgency.

3

Use hash-matching takedown tools

For intimate images, services create a digital fingerprint so platforms can detect and block copies without you re-sharing it.

4

Escalate if it involves a minor or intimate content

This is illegal in many places and handled as an emergency. Do not hesitate to involve the authorities - you are the victim here.

5

Chase every copy

Fakes get re-uploaded and mirrored. Removing the first post is rarely the end - track where it reappears and report each instance.

Finding and removing every copy of a deepfake, across platforms and re-uploads, is relentless work under real stress. Detection-and-removal services carry that load.

You don't have to handle this alone.
